Decoy (2025)
Decoy is a short video made using found footage – recordings of homemade or store-bought ‘predator decoys’ used as lures by hunters to attract and kill predators. The video shows only the decoys: moving, turning, twitching, mimicking prey in distress. Animated, animal-like objects placed in a natural environment. Their goal forgotten, the anonymous hunter-recorders seem captivated by their own decoys, as if they have become seduced by their own charm. The audience may mirror this behaviour, their attention drawn to the crude “cyborgs” on display – totems at the threshold between human and animal. Video available upon request.
